How our library runs
The library is governed by a 9 member board of trustees. Members of the board serve 3 year terms on a volunteer basis. The board determines policy, oversees the budget, and sets the strategic direction of the library on behalf of the funding bodies that appoint them. Half of the library board is appointed by the City of Springfield and the other half by Robertson County.
The funding bodies also each supply half of the operational costs of the library each year.
